I hated nature, I hated trees, I hated bugs. Ironically, I hated nature so much, but I somehow ended up attending a school isolated in the mountains called Idyllwild. The trees, which I hated so much at first, suddenly started to look beautiful last winter. Last winter, I was working late and walking back to my dorm. I unexpectedly took a closer look at the trees, and it was so beautiful that I felt the desire to paint a tree for the first time. While attending this school for almost three years, that was the first time I observed trees closely. After that, I slowly started to look at the nature around me. I realized that I had forgotten the importance of familiarity. The painting started with the question of whether we forget the existence of not only nature but also the people around us because we are familiar with them.
